The 2015 District 5 4-H Gold Star Banquet is now history. Here are some pictures of each of the honorees getting their awards from representatives of Texas Farm Products, Mr. Travis Cotten and Mr. Joe Bob Stewart.
Message from the Council:
The District 5 4-H Council planned a community service day this Saturday (March 7th) benefiting the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. We are going to help get an outdoor area ready for summer. Please come and join us from 10am-12pm. Bring your rake and gloves! Here is the address: 6844 U.S. Hwy 69N, Pollok, Texas 75969. We understand that Google maps will get you to the destination, but the iPhone maps will not. We hope to see you there.
Well, that sounds like a great thing to do. Now that the snow and ice has melted Spring landscaping is just around the corner. Please join the other 4-Hers from around the district in cleaning this area.
The District 5 4-H Council’s Food Drive was a huge success. The following Top 6 winners were announced at this year’s YES Camp.
Anderson County 2053
Smith County 1198
Shelby County 839
Henderson County 664
Harrison County 302
San Augustine County 220
All these canned goods weighed approximately 3545 pounds and were given to distribution centers all across the region.
Thanks to all the counties that participated along with these Top 6 winners. In our books, you are all winners! So brag all you can about the great things 4-H does. 🙂
