Below is information posted by Dr. Chris Boleman in his weekly blog:
4-H Fashion Show season is in full swing. As Senior 4-H members are preparing their district and hopefully, for the State 4-H Fashion Show, I would like to point out that the 4-H Fashion Show at the Texas 4-H Roundup has been moved from Wednesday to Tuesday of Roundup week. This change was not listed in the 4-H Roundup Guide list of changes or in the agent letter that was sent with the 2014 Clothing and Textiles packet, but included in the 2014 Texas 4-H Roundup Guide. This may affect some of your 4-H members.
The rational for the change is two pronged: first, moving all clothing and textiles contest events to one day to provide a focused day of clothing and textiles contests and educational opportunities and second, to eliminate the conflict with other FCS contests that are held on Wednesday of Roundup week. This change has been over a year in the making and has included input from the 4-H Clothing and Textiles Advisory Board and a state-wide survey of 4-H members, families and agents. This was a difficult decision to make because it would affect 4-H member’s either day, and this was voiced within the Advisory Board and through the survey. The schedule for Texas Roundup week provides numerous opportunities for our young people and it is hard to find a date and time that does not conflict with other contests.
I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call.
